Hmm, Eric Roberts is in Lumina. Have not seen him in anything in a long time. Looking at IMDB he have been in like 50 things for 2024, so far and another 87 things coming up for 2024 and beyond. Thats crazy... Some actors do that many roles in their whole life. Is it an end of the line thing like with Bruce Willis?

The fans of the original keep spitting fire on the remake saying the trailer is spoiler-ey but tbh as a 3rd person's perspective it really didnt seem to spoil anything that's not already common knowledge. And the slow build up through the trailer is suggestive of the slow build up through the movie I felt. The music design of the trailer was insane as well, so all in all this has piqued my interest enough. Seems amazing+ we have McAvoy! What else could one ask for I am not sure.

'The Institute' is the only novel I've read more times, the plot is so attractive to me and I just find it so satisfying.

Not a deep story, a cheap plot and lots of violent frenzy.

I loved “Horror In The High Desert”, and also really enjoyed the sequel. The sequel perhaps a bit less, but it’s still a really eerie movie, and I’m eagerly awaiting the third entry. I’m incredibly interested to find out more about the creatures/ monsters/ desert weirdos, whatever they might be. The thing that I found to be the most ominously intriguing in the original was the music coming from the cabin that DW (Desert Weirdo) lives in. I can hear it in my head if I try, and it’s probably been around six months since I saw it last. It sounds like some kind of a ritualistic call, as if to summon some entity or otherworldly being. The vibrato in the voice and the fact that you can’t tell what it’s saying just makes it extra spooky. In the sequel it was the stories being told about other people’s experiences with groups of DWs, and that “they aren’t people”- yikes. Sometimes it’s just a single incident or sentence that I find to be what elevates the movie to another level. The movie “Savageland”, even though there was no video or footage of the killings, was made so much creepier by simple black and white still images that were grainy and vague. They conveyed a sense of panic and immediate danger that an ultra-detailed high quality video just normally wouldn’t. Anyway, thanks for the video- I really enjoyed listening to you guys discussing all of this stuff 👍🏻

Best horror soundtracks/scores would be a good topic

Big fan of Horror in the High Desert series of movies. Love how it's basically framed as a 20/20 style show about a one of those guys who does videos about surviving in a desert talking about seeing something freaky deep in the desert and when everyone doubts him decides to shoot a video proving what he saw. The way it's shot makes you think it's just a true crime doc but then turns into something more. Then the sequel is sort of meta involving people searching for the first dude they saw in the movie.

I was beyond "meh" with the first movie (particularly the..."reveal?") but this one is dialing up crazy about 10 notches and looks like a good time. I like when sequels to middling movies just have fun with things and go the "more is more" route, like The Grudge did. The Grudge (2004) was a pretty standard, bad American remake but The Grudge 2? Absolute bonkers nonsense and I love it. Still pure garbage, but it's MY garbage.

I find the novel to be very middling and long-winded, like most of King's post-1990 work, but the R-rated movie is an absolute staple of my childhood. Couldn't even ballpark how many times I've seen it. For some reason, I didn't really watch The Shining or any of the more "esteemed" adaptations until I was in my late teens/early 20s, but you bet your ass I watched Children of the Corn and Needful Things an absurd number of times.

I love that people think, “but it’s a different cycle of Roland’s quest” is a valid excuse for this half assed mishmash of a movie. The director is using that as an excuse as to why it horribly adapts the books. I just can’t imagine the Dark Tower without the whole Ka-Tet; where was Eddie, Susannah, Callahan and OY?

Loved the book. The movie had a great cast, but of course not as good as the book. Hard to put a King book into a great movie.

I agree...the big actors in this film were the worst parts. Jazz singer and her daugther and red bathing suit girl best performers in the movie.

This was absolutely awesome. I was hooked. Man, I didn’t want it to end. Bravo team and kudos for this. Brought back so many memories. Oh & I’m not sleeping tonight. 😅

I’ve just going off the tv show I have never read the comics, but according to the tv show there is a prequel in the first episode where a man receives a mysterious phone call and then gets sad so he uses the fire key to set him and his house on fire.

The story /hook didn’t grab me like the first one did. The singer angle is not interesting to me in the least. Hoping it lives up to the original.

Naomi Scott looks like Sarah Michelle Gellar in this one.

im pumped. really liked the first BUT...what about Joel? they left me with a cliff hanger ending and this doesnt look like its going to conclude that story unless they pull a Terminator Dark Fate and axe him in the beginning. i was REALLY looking forward to the conclusion.

Absolutely loved it and these images!he played an amazing Freddy Krueger just more like Robert Englund even though it wasn’t him he could easily play for a new film even this Dylan’s New Nightmare being made into a real movie for cinema release and it would create amazing press for Wes Cravens New Nightmare ❤ R.I.P.
